What happens in counselling?

Counselling provides a space to discuss the personal difficulties that you hope to work through as you make positive changes to your life.

Your first session will focus on gathering information about you and will involve discussion relating to your needs and expectations. Your following sessions will continue helping you grow and learn.

How many counselling sessions will I need & how often are they?

The number of sessions you have will largely depend on your individual needs & progress, on average individuals have between 8 and 12, couples have between 6 and 10, families have between 5 and 8. Sessions are 60 minutes & start weekly with the view to reduce to fortnightly over time.

What happens in Coaching

Coaching offers you the opportunity to focus on your goals, the sessions are designed to implement a plan, have a structure with achievable goals to manage. Your ongoing sessions will manage your progress, keep you accountable and continue supporting your changes.

How long is a coaching session & how often do I need it?

Coaching sessions can vary in duration, they can be arranged to suit your flexibility with anything from an hour to 2 hours per session. The frequency of the session can be fortnightly or monthly.

Do you offer an initial free phone call?

I offer a free 15-minute phone call where you can ask me any necessary questions. Please visit ‘contact me details’ on the website.

How do I pay for my sessions?

All payments are to be made online. Bank details will be sent upon confirmation of first session, with all payments in advance of the session.

How do I contact you?

Please see the ‘contact ME’ section of my website, I aim to respond within 24 hours of your enquiry.

How do I cancel or rearrange a session?

You can cancel or rearrange your session by email or by telephone.

All cancellations & rearranging of sessions require a 48-hour notice period. Cancelled sessions must be taken within a 2 week window from point of cancellation.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality refers to maintaining private & personal information about you & ensuring that no unauthorized person has access to it. If confidentiality needs to be broken for any reason, I will always speak with you first.

Confidentiality is one of the most fundamental ethical & legal obligations in my profession. As a qualified & practicing Counsellor/Coach, a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP www.bacp.co.uk) I follow the guidelines of this registered professional body.

Confidentiality will be maintained in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (GDPR).
